MY PERSONAL BACK STORY: A Homegrown Business
“Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.”
It all began in 1986 when I married my sweetheart, Jim, at the young age of 21. I dreamed of having a home that looked and felt like the ones I saw in Better Home and Garden and House Beautiful. Our budget, however, permitted for only the essentials. My desire for beautiful things quickly turned into a passion and I was determined to figure out how to get these lovely things. Creativity and crafting was second nature to me (thanks to my father) so I began sewing window treatments and making “knock-off” versions of the pieces and vignettes I circled in the magazines. My creative passions lead to other things which included making custom bridal headpieces and launching a collaborative line of beaded and bedazzled clothing for women and children sold through Elegant Essential Home Shows. Fast forward 10 years as I decide to leave corporate America to stay home and begin our family. Once our boys entered school, I tapped into that determination again to figure out how I could continue to be a “stay-at-home” mom while earning an income. It made perfect sense to turn my sewing skills and decorating ideas into a business.
I really enjoy getting to know my clients and the opportunity to make a lasting impact in their homes. I am a “REAL” woman, wife and mother and I understand the demands placed upon our lives and the seasons that we pass through. I approach each client and project on an individual basis and will tailor the project around their needs and budget. I am honest, relatable, reliable and have a very eclectic design palate….and I LOVE what I do!!
